Courtland, CA Courtland-Union High School 1925 La Perita Yearbook 28

We hope that a town women's team or a teacher's team may be organized next year so that we may be able to have more games and keep up our great enthusiasm. The Freshmen and Sophomores on the team indicate that we shall have a very experienced team next year.
BASEBALL
Baseball practice has begun. but a first team has not yet been definitely or¬ganized. Many more girls turned out for baseball than basket ball so that Miss Peekema has very much more material to work with. More than that, as the school board has bought a very good and complete baseball equipment for us, we are very eager to have some games with other high schools although there is no girls' league this year. We have been privileged in using part of the ath¬letic field for practice: on this part we have a very good diamond.
Practice games have been played with the grammar school already this year.
The girls who have not participated in basketball and baseball have been taking formal gymnastics. At Christmas time, a little dance, entitled "Jingle Bells" was given by twelve girls, half of them were dressed as boys and the rest as girls. Their costumes were very pretty and attractive.
